Another member of last year’s New Orleans Saints team has found a new home, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz. Schultz reports that former Saints running back Jordan Mims reached an agreement on a two-year deal with the Tennessee Titans on the eve of training camp, giving the former Fresno State star another opportunity to show what he can do in the NFL.

Mims, 26, entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Buffalo Bills in 2023 but ended his rookie year on the Saints’ practice squad. He appeared in 11 games last season but gained just 70 yards and two first downs on 20 rushing attempts, also catching a dozen passes for another 71 yards while picking up four first downs.

It didn’t take long for Mims (who happened to be college teammates with Saints backup QB Jake Haener) to endear himself to his veteran teammates, but the team needed to get more dynamic in the backfield, so he was let go earlier this offseason.

While Alvin Kamara remains at the top of the Saints’ depth chart at running back, the competition for jobs behind him is heating up. The Saints added veteran free agents like Velus Jones Jr. and Cam Akers plus a couple of rookies in Devin Neal and Marcus Yarns. Kendre Miller and Clyde Edwards-Helaire have their work cut out for them in fending off all of those competitors.

As for Mims? He’s hoping to catch on as a viable backup for Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears, and get a chance for payback on his former team when the Saints visit Tennessee on Dec. 28. Good luck to him.
