Houston’s magic number is one.

After the Texans beat Miami, 20-12, in Week 15 at NRG Stadium, they need just one more victory or one more loss by the Colts to capture the AFC South.

Indianapolis is currently playing against the Denver Broncos, and a loss to the Broncos would give Houston it’s eighth division title in franchise history. All of those AFC South crowns have come since the start of the 2011 regular season.

The Texans head to Kansas City on Friday, and will face the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday. After that, it’s a quick turnaround to play on Wednesday, Christmas Day, against the Ravens inside NRG Stadium. Houston’s season finale is on the road at Tennessee.

Head Coach DeMeco Ryans, when asked about the clinch scenario, described how he and the Texans are keeping their focus very simple.

“Control what we can control,” Ryans said. “For us today, just how can we go out and play good football? Complementary football versus the Dolphins. That’s what won the game for us.”
