Wide receiver Christian Watson, linebacker Quay Walker and offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins are among the eight players placed on various injury lists ahead of the start of training camp for the Green Bay Packers.

Quarterbacks, rookies and injured players reported to Packers training camp on Friday. Per the league’s transaction wire, the Packers placed Watson, Walker, fifth-round pick Collin Oliver and seventh-round picks Micah Robinson and John Williams on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list and placed Jenkins, running back Amar Johnson and kicker Alex Hale on the non-football injury (NFI) list on Friday.

The PUP list is for players injured and unable to participate after being injured in a football-related activity at a team facility; the NFI list is for players injured and unable to participate after being injured away from the facility.

A player can be activated from either list at any time during training camp. All eight players count against the Packers’ 90-man roster while on the injury lists.

Watson tore his ACL in the 2024 season finale and needed surgery. He is headed for a long stay on the PUP list. Walker missed most of the offseason workout program with an undisclosed injury. The three draft picks will likely have a delayed start to camp, which always provides a sizable hurdle for a rookie learning the professional game.

Jenkins, who is moving to center, skipped the entire offseason workout program while attempting to secure a new contract from the Packers. It is unclear what injury he is dealing with to open training camp, but the Packers need him on the field during camp to get reps with Jordan Love at a ball-handling position.
