ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler recently constructed his ranking of the top 10 cornerbacks in 2025 based on insights from NFL executives, coaches, and scouts.
Of the top 10 cornerbacks on Fowler’s rankings, the Jaguars will face six of them.

Personnel-wise, building around quarterback Trevor Lawrence was an obvious priority for the Jaguars this offseason. This included reshaping the offensive, which will bolster the competition and therefore the level of play.
GM James Gladstone also added a lot more speed and playmaking potential to this unit as well, with the additions of Dyami Brown, Travis Hunter, and Bhayshul Tuten.
Schematically, under Liam Coen, we are going to see an emphasis on multiplicity, or throwing a variety of looks at opponents. This will be accomplished by moving players around pre-snap, running a number of plays from just a few personnel groupings, along with like-plays, or plays that look similar initially but are actually quite different.
“We’ll be multiple and want to be a complete offense in the sense that we have the ability to attack defenses in a variety of ways,” said offensive coordinator Grant Udinski of the offense.
“You need to have all the tools in the bag, and then take those tools and fit them to the players that you have. How can we take what our guys execute, what our guys execute well, and put those players in the best position for success.”
All of this can keep opponents off balance and guessing, and open up opportunities for Trevor Lawrence, Brian Thomas Jr., and others to exploit.
At the end of the day, it’s the players who make the plays, but the scheme and play-calling can help put them into advantageous situations.
