As sunlight breaks over the Arroyo Seco on Sunday, thousands will gather at Pasadena’s Rose Bowl Stadium for “WalkUnitedLA: United For Our Future,” a high-energy 5K walk and run supporting wildfire recovery and community rebuilding.
Co-chaired by Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and his wife Kelly Stafford, the event benefits United Way of Greater Los Angeles initiatives in housing, education and economic mobility.
“We are excited to continue our partnership with United Way of Greater Los Angeles and demonstrate the power of teamwork in service to our community,” said Rams President Kevin Demoff.
“For nearly two decades, WalkUnitedLA has become one of LA’s main fundraising events,” said United Way CEO Elise Buik. “This year, our mission is even more urgent as we strive to help our neighbors who have lost everything to the wildfires rebuild their homes and lives.”
The event supports United Way’s $1.8 million Wildfire Recovery Fund, launched June 29 to aid residents in Pasadena and in Altadena with housing, legal services and healing programs.
Parking and registration begin at 6 a.m.
The program runs 8 to 8:45 a.m., followed by a 5K run at 9 a.m. and walk at 9:15 a.m.
A post-walk festival runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Registration is $25 for walkers and $35 for runners.
Runners (first 1,000) receive medals.
Top fundraisers can earn Rams VIP passes or a photo op with Stafford.
Early donors can receive event-branded gear.
