Von Miller Will Play Against Broncos for New Team in 2025 originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
After a long, drawn-out offseason, former Denver Broncos edge rusher Von Miller is finally signing for a new team. Miller announced on Wednesday that he was signing with the Washington Commanders, posting a picture of himself in a Commanders uniform wearing the number 24, a nod to former Broncos teammate Champ Bailey.

Miller spent the last three seasons with the Buffalo Bills, notching 14 sacks and 17 tackles for loss in 36 games, but his time was disrupted by injuries, and Miller never hit the heights of previous seasons. Now, at 35 years old, the veteran edge rusher joins Washington in the NFC and will be chasing a Super Bowl ring again.
The Commanders finished with a 12-5 record in 2024 and made it to the NFC Championship Game before falling to the Philadelphia Eagles. They’ll enter the 2025 season as one of the favorites in the NFC, and on a personal note for Miller, he’ll face the Broncos in a reunion game.
Per Jon Heath of Broncos Wire, the two teams will face off in Week 13, a big moment for one of the best Broncos players in franchise history and a former Super Bowl winner with the team.

Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller (40) rushes towards Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix (10) and misses tackling him during the second half of the Buffalo Bills wild card game against the Denver Broncos at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park.
“Miller won a second Super Bowl with the Rams and then had a stint with the Buffalo Bills from 2022-2024,” Heath writes. “After signing with the Commanders, he is set to face the Broncos on Sunday Night Football in Week 13 this fall.”
His first Super Bowl win came with the Broncos in 2015, and the former All-Pro edge rusher was voted as the Super Bowl MVP in the win against the Panthers. His second win came with the Rams in 2021 after a midseason trade with the Broncos, and Miller dominated with four sacks in four games in the playoff run. Miller isn’t the same defender as he was five years ago, but he’ll face the Broncos in Week 13 as a franchise favorite.

“Miller ranks No. 1 in Denver history with 110.5 sacks, and his 129.5 career sacks rank 16th on the NFL’s all-time list,” Heath adds. “Miller is nine sacks away from joining DeMarcus Ware in the top-ten on the league’s all-time list.”
The Week 13 matchup will be one of the best this season. Both teams are in the hunt for the playoffs, and though fans will be happy to watch Miller, they’ll be hoping the Broncos get the last laugh.
