Henderson, 22, a Hopewell, Virginia, native, was selected in the draft with the 38th overall pick out of Ohio State. He was the number one running back nationwide when he was recruited by Ohio State in 2021. That same year, he broke the Ohio State record for a freshman with 19 total touchdowns, leading the team with 1,248 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns.He started in eight games his sophomore year, but missed five with a broken foot.In his junior year, he led the team with 926 rushing yards and eleven rushing touchdowns.When he reached his senior year, Henderson became team captain, joining Quinshon Judkins as 1,000-yard rushers for the Buckeyes. He played in all 16 games with nine starts for the Buckeyes, who went on to win the national championship in 2024 and 2025.
