The Eagles got their Super Bowl rings on Friday, but the celebration isn’t over yet.
On Thursday, The Philadelphia Orchestra will perform “A Championship Season” to honor the Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX victory, like they did after Philadelphia’s first Super Bowl. The performance will take place at The Mann Center at 8 PM and is hosted by the Voice of the Eagles, Merrill Reese. Tickets can be purchased here.
Anthony Parnther, the conductor, will lead the orchestra through video highlights of the Eagles’ season while they perform live music from NFL Films. A portion of the proceeds will support the Mann Center’s free arts education initiative and the Eagles Autism Foundation.
“The Philadelphia Orchestra is one of the greatest orchestras in the world. I think that’s something that every Philadelphian knows and is very proud of. And obviously the Eagles showed that they’re the best football team in the nation,” Parnther said. “This is the display of a lot of talent and hard work. Virtuosity on the field versus virtuosity in the concert hall.
“I think this is a great alignment of wonderful values and inspiration. It’s just great to see everybody come together and celebrate music and athleticism. The orchestra and the football team aren’t so different. It’s a bunch of people who have specific responsibilities coming together to achieve something greater than the individual. So there’s a lot of crossover between the two.”
