Jaguars sponsored flag football teams heading off to Canton, OH

Jacksonville Jaguars held sendoff party Sunday July 13, 2025 at Miller Electric Center in Jacksonville, Fla. for their flag football teams that they sponsor for the NFL Flag Championships next week in Canton, Ohio.

Jacksonville has a football champion that wears teal and bears the name “Jaguars.”

The Jaguars Elite 14U team turned in a dominating defensive performance after averaging 29 points in their first six games and blanked Miami (sponsored by the Atlanta Falcons) 13-0 on July 20 to win the NFL Flag Championships at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Village in Canton, Ohio.

Quarterback Dylan Motes threw a 25-yard TD pass to Jaiden Bennet in the first half and Jayden Timmon caught a TD pass off a trick play with 9:05 left in the game.

For the first time in the tournament, Jaguars wide receiver Brysen Wright, a rising sophomore at Mandarin High, was kept out of the end zone (he had seven receptions for 163 yards and three TDs in a 41-12 victory over Clifton Park, N.Y., in the semifinals) but he set up the first touchdown with a 25-yard reception and broke up two deep passes late in the game.

Dayvon Jenkins intercepted a pass on Atlanta’s first possession and the Jaguars forced the Falcons to lose the ball on downs four times.

Wright, a rising sophomore at Mandarin, scored 10 touchdowns and five extra points in seven games and was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. He went viral on Saturday with a one-handed TD catch that was re-posted on social media by Patrick Mahomes, Chad Johnson and Bijan Robinson and viewed more than 1 million times.

The Jaguars outscored seven opponents 187-69 in the tournament and had two shutouts. They scored 26 or more points in four games and their semifinal victory broke the scoring record for their division in the NFL Flag Championships.
