It’s hard to believe that the Tennessee Titans will kick off training camp in just days, and while most of the attention will be on Cam Ward and the offense, many observers will be keeping tabs on cornerback L’Jarius Sneed.
Sneed is slated to return after missing most of 2024 and the entire offseason recovering from a leg injury. The Titans need the veteran to return to his former form and solidify their defensive backfield. Sneed is the most seasoned corner on their roster. Behind him, only Roger McCreary has over one year of experience.Â
The Titans have some young talent at the position, but depth could be an issue, just as it was in 2024 when injuries robbed Tennessee of its two projected starters early in the season, and it plagued them throughout the year.Â
This potential lack of experienced depth is something that team reporter Jim Wyatt touched on during his preview of the cornerback position, advising readers to keep an eye out for the potential addition of one or two cornerbacks to contend.
Something to keep an eye on leading up to the season: The possibility of the team adding another corner (or two?) to contend.
The Titans have been mentioned as being in the cornerback market throughout the offseason, but have yet to seriously enter that arena. With free agents such as Asante Samuel Jr., Rasul Douglas, Mike Hilton, and Kendall Fuller still on the market, there are veterans available who could come in and compete.Â
