Broncos Wire‘s 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at rookie wide receiver Joaquin Davis, No. 80.

Before the Broncos: Davis (6-4, 195 pounds) was a four-year player from North Carolina Central, where he played from 2021-24. He ended his college career with 92 receptions for 1,211 yards and 12 receiving touchdowns. He ran a 40-yard dash in 4.36 seconds at his pro day and entered the draft with a 9.33 (out of 10) RAS score. He was a key player on special teams in college.

Broncos tenure: Davis signed with Denver as an undrafted free agent this spring. He will make his Bronco debut during preseason next month.

Chances to make the 53-man roster: Long shot. Davis is a speedy receiver with impressive athleticism, but he’s competing for a spot in a very crowded wide receiver room. It’s hard to imagine Davis ending up on the active roster above players like Courtland Sutton, Devaughn Vele, Marvin Mims, Pat Bryant Troy Franklin and Trent Sherfield. As a high-upside speedster, though, Davis is probably a top candidate for the practice squad in 2025.
