49ers RB Christian McCaffrey is No. 73 in ‘NFL Top 100’ and will face the Cardinals twice in 2025.
Last week, the NFL had its third week of revealing players in the “NFL Top 100.” After two players were revealed on Monday and another on Tuesday the Arizona Cardinals will face in 2025, a fourth was revealed later in the week, one who will see the Cardinals twice in 2025. That would be San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey.
Despite playing in four games last season, he was still ranked No. 73 after being the No. 3 player in the top 100 in 2024.
Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Zack Baun recalled how bad a game he had against McCaffrey years ago. “He’s a tough tackle,” he said, recalling how he missed three or four tackles against McCaffrey in that game. It made him question whether he could cut it as a full-time defensive player.
Eagles running back Saquon Barkley said, “you have to account for him in so many ways, physical and pass pro. He can run routes like a receiver.”
McCaffrey’s quarterback, Brock Purdy, called him “Mr. Do-it-all.”
He only had 202 yards in four games last season, but he has been a Cardinals killer.
In seven career games against the Cardinals, he is 6-1 against them and has 580 rushing yards and five touchdowns, and he has caught 44 passes for 426 yards and another five scores. That is 1,006 total yards and 10 total touchdowns.
The Cardinals face the 49ers in Week 3 and Week 11.
