The Carolina Panthers are set to take a look at a few outside players before the start of training camp this week.

According to Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer, the Panthers are working out a handful of free agents on Monday. The group features former Seattle Seahawks tight end Tyler Mabry, who has a few ties to Carolina’s current staff.

Mabry, after splitting his five-year collegiate career between Buffalo (2015 to 2018) and Maryland (2019), cracked into the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Seattle in 2020. That’s where he’d first cross paths with a number of Panthers coaches—including head coach Dave Canales, offensive coordinator Brad Idzik and tight ends coach Pat McPherson.

The 6-foot-3, 247-pounder appeared in 10 games for the Seahawks between 2021 and 2024. He’s totaled one reception, a 7-yard touchdown back in 2022, with the majority of his snaps (77.7 percent) coming on special teams.

Carolina is also bringing in cornerback Nick Whiteside as well as outside linebackers Jaylon Allen and Kenny Dyson, who played in two games for the team in 2024.
