After the Denver Broncos picked seven players in the 2025 NFL draft, we have a new depth chart projection ahead of organized team activities next month.
The Broncos added cornerback Jahdae Barron, running back RJ Harvey, wide receiver Pat Bryant, defensive end Sai’vion Jones, outside linebacker Que Robinson, punter Jeremy Crawshaw and tight end Caleb Lohner during the draft. The first six have strong odds to make the team, but Lohner might be a long shot.
Note that this is a projected depth chart, not an official depth chart from the team (Denver is not required to release an official depth chart until the week of the first preseason game). Also of note, no undrafted free agent additions are included because their signings are not official yet. Now, let’s dive in!
Broncos (projected) depth chartQuarterback (3)
Stidham returns as Nix’s backup, and Ehlinger will likely be a candidate to serve as the QB3 from the practice squad in 2025.
Running back (5)RB1: RJ HarveyRB2: Audric EstimeRB3: Jaleel McLaughlinRB4: Tyler BadieRB5: Blake Watson
Harvey is likely the new RB1 with Estime mixed in and McLaughlin serving a change-of-pace role. Badie and Watson should be strong candidates for the practice squad if they don’t make the 53-man roster.
Tight end/fullback (7)TE1: Evan EngramTE2: Adam TrautmanTE/FB: Nate AdkinsFB Michael BurtonDepth: Lucas Krull, Caleb Lohner, Thomas Yassmin
Lohner might be a candidate for the practice squad in his rookie season. Engram is the top receiving threat in 2025.
Wide receiver (8)WR1: Courtland SuttonWR2: Marvin MimsWR3: Devaughn VeleWR4: Troy FranklinWR5: Pat BryantST: Trent SherfieldDepth: Michael Bandy, A.T. Perry
Sutton remains the WR1. Behind him, Mims and Vele are probably the next two options at WR. The Broncos will hope to see Franklin take a step forward this fall, and Bryant should get opportunities to rotate in.
Offensive line (12)LT: Garett Bolles, Matt Peart, Frank CrumLG: Ben Powers, Calvin ThrockmortonC: Luke Wattenberg, Alex ForsythRG: Quinn Meinerz, Nick Gargiulo, Will ShermanRT: Mike McGlinchey, Alex Palczewski
The same starting front five from last season returns. Denver could use more depth and competition at center and a long-term developmental tackle.
Defensive line (9)DE: Zach Allen, Sai’vion Jones, Eyioma UwazurikeDT: D.J. Jones, Malcolm Roach, Jordan MillerDE: John Franklin-Myers, Jordan Jackson, Matt Henningsen
The Broncos have an excellent starting three, but Allen, JFM and Roach are scheduled to become free agents in 2026. It’s no surprise that Jones was added to the group on a team-friendly rookie contract.
Outside linebacker (6)OLB1: Jonathon CooperOLB2: Nik BonittoOLB3: Jonah EllissOLB4: Dondrea TillmanOLB5: Que RobinsonDepth: Andrew Farmer
The Broncos are very deep at pass rusher, so much so that one of them could be a trade candidate before the regular season begins. Robinson should contribute right away on special teams while competing for rotational pass-rush snaps.
Inside linebacker (6)ILB1: Dre Greenlaw, Justin StrnadILB2: Alex Singleton, Drew SandersST: Levelle Bailey, K.J. Cloyd
Greenlaw is injured, and Singleton is coming back from a torn ACL. Sanders and Strnad could get opportunities to compete for a starting job, and even Bailey is a dark horse to keep an eye on.
Cornerback (8)CB1: Pat SurtainCB2: Riley MossSlot: Jahdae BarronCB4: Ja’Quan McMillianCB5: Kris Abrams-Draine, Damarri MathisDepth: Quinton Newsome, Reese Taylor
Barron figures to take a top-three spot right away, either as the starting slot cornerback or as the No. 2 outside cornerback with Moss moving to the inside.
Safety (9)S1: Brandon JonesS2: Talanoa HufangaDime: P.J. LockeS4: Devon KeyST: Sam Franklin, JL Skinner, Delarrin Turner-YellDepth: Keidron Smith, Tanner McCalister
Locke has lost his starting job to Hufanga, but he’ll likely get a chance to compete for rotational snaps. Barron could be a candidate to get snaps at safety as well.
Special teams (5)
Fraboni and Triner are set to compete at long snapper this summer, and Crawshaw will be the heavy favorite to beat Haack in a punter competition.
While we wait for rookie minicamp next week, we will continue to track the undrafted free agent signings and minicamp tryout invites on Broncos Wire.
