Pittsburgh Steelers honor 1933 roots with new throwback jerseys

The Steelers are showing off this year’s throwback uniforms, taking us all the way back to 1933.The black and gold uniforms are inspired by what the first roster of Steelers players wore.The uniforms will be debuted during a game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Oct. 26.“We’re excited to unveil our new throwback uniforms which not only pay tribute to the origins of the Steelers franchise but also to the deep connection we have to our hometown of Pittsburgh,” said Steelers President Art Rooney II.The redesign of the uniforms from the 1930s and 1960s features jerseys with black striping, oversized black-trimmed white block numbers and the City of Pittsburgh crest on a gold base.The uniform also includes beige pants to emulate the 1933 khaki uniforms.Fans can take part in the throwback by purchasing hats, hoodies and replica jerseys at Steelers Pro Shop locations at Acrisure Stadium or online by clicking here.
