FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Former Atlanta Falcons outside linebacker Lorenzo Carter is retiring from the NFL.

Carter’s current team, the Tennessee Titans, announced the news Tuesday. Carter will be placed on the league’s Reserve/Retired list.

Carter played for the Falcons from 2022-24. He appeared in all but four games during that timeframe, starting 29 of the 51 possible games overall. He totaled 125 tackles, 14 of which were for a loss, with seven sacks. He also recovered three fumbles and forced two.

In addition to those statistics, Carter turned an interception into his sole career pick six during the Falcons’ Week 8 overtime win against the Carolina Panthers on Oct. 30, 2022.

Carter closes out his seven-year career with 278 tackles and 21.5 sacks in 62 starts and 96 appearances. He finished with a total of five forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and two interceptions.
