The Colorado State football coaching staff is reportedly getting a shake-up barely a month before the 2025 season kicks off.

CSU defensive line coach Chuka Ndulue has accepted a job as the Los Angeles Chargers‘ defensive line coach as of July 18, according to a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Ndulue’s move to the NFL reunites him with the Chargers organization, where he spent two seasons as a practice squad player from 2015-16.

The former Oklahoma Sooner standout was with the Rams for just one season (2024), helping the CSU defense improve during an 8-5 (6-1 Mountain West) campaign.

Ndulue was previously the defensive line coach at New Mexico State (2022-23) and Southern Illinois (2019-21) before joining Jay Norvell’s staff in Fort Collins. He’s highly regarded in the coaching profession, especially after helping the Aggies to the program’s first-ever 10-win season in 2023.

The Chargers opened training camp for the 2025 season July 17, with the team’s preseason opener set for July 31 vs. the Detroit Lions.

Colorado State opens preseason camp in early August. That leaves a very short window for Norvell to fill CSU’s defensive line coach opening, especially with the regular-season opener Aug. 30 at Washington.
