Last year, the Saints came out on fire, scoring 91 points in the first two games of the year. Then the Saints went on a seven-game losing streak, prompting the firing of their head coach. Compound that with the loss of their starting quarterback, Derek Carr, to injury, and the season just went downhill from there.

The Saints finished the season at 5-12 and entered the offseason with considerable uncertainty about the future of the starting quarterback and who would lead the team moving forward. Those questions were quickly answered, however, when they announced the hiring of Kellan Moore to become the next head coach of the Saints.

Compound that with the announcement that their starting quarterback, Derek Carr, was retiring, and the team started the rebuilding process. The Saints will start the 2025 campaign with their first preseason game, set for Sunday, August 10, 2025, against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Saints start the regular season at home on September 7, 2025, when they host the Arizona Cardinals.
