Von Miller opened his 15th NFL season on Wednesday, this time in a Washington Commanders‘ uniform for the first time. As the Commanders reported to training camp for the first time, it was everyone’s first chance to see Miller in his fresh new No. 24 burgundy jersey.

Here’s Miller coming onto the practice field for the first time in Washington.

While it’s cool to see Miller donning the burgundy and gold, perhaps the coolest moment from the first day of Washington’s training camp came when Miller locked up with Ryan Kerrigan in drills. Why is this unique? Miller was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft. Kerrigan was the 16th overall pick in that same draft. The two have a combined 225 career NFL sacks. Kerrigan is now one of Miller’s coaches, as he’s Washington’s assistant linebackers coach/pass rush specialist.

Miller officially signed with the Commanders on Monday and figures to be a critical part of Washington’s defense in 2025.
