Jalen Ramsey was made available this offseason after the Miami Dolphins agreed to part ways with the veteran cornerback. The Los Angeles Rams considered trading for him but he was ultimately sent to the Pittsburgh Steelers in a blockbuster deal for Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Now that he’s in Pittsburgh, Ramsey is excited about his next venture – particularly because he puts the Steelers in a different class than his past teams.

During his first media session on Wednesday, Ramsey said the Steelers are the first “storied franchise” he’s played for, which means he doesn’t have the Rams (or the Jaguars and Dolphins) in the same echelon at the black and yellow.

He wasn’t taking a shot at the Rams, but it was an interesting comment from the star corner.

“I’m excited for everything that has to do with this organization,” he said. “This is a storied franchise. Obviously, I won a Super Bowl, loved my time with the L.A. Rams, but I can’t say I’ve played for a storied franchise like this yet. So this is very exciting for me. I’m just embracing all of it, really.”

The Steelers have six Super Bowl wins compared to only two for the Rams, but Pittsburgh hasn’t won a playoff game since 2016. The Steelers are 0-5 since then, while the Rams are 8-5 in the postseason with a Super Bowl win since Sean McVay was hired in 2017.

So there’s no question which team has had more recent success in the playoffs.
