PHILADELPHIA, PA. – The reigning Super Bowl champions have returned to the office.
The Birds received their championship rings less than a week ago: a special moment for a number of players.
AJ Brown explained, “It’s probably one of the best feelings I’ve ever experienced. At that exact moment, I felt like a true champion.”
Saquon Barkley stated, “Howie asked me what’s better, the confetti or the ring? I think I’m probably going to go with the ring. I’m not really a guy who’s going to walk around with it all the time. It’s a beautiful thing that you have. Any time someone talks about that year, you have something to show…not just a Lombardi, but a ring too.”
With their rings and hardware secured, the Eagles were very clear about one thing, that special chapter is closed.
On this point Jordan Mailata says, “Whatever we did last year, that’s in the rear-view mirror. It doesn’t matter anymore. We’re not defending nothing. We’re not the defending champs. We’re the 2024 world champs, that’s it.”
Long time Eagle Lane Johnson said, “Don’t let success change your routines and habits. Remember what makes a team successful. Try to lean in on that and not trying to play hero ball.”
Quarterback Jalen Hurts stated, “It’s a new journey, it’s a new season. Those things are far behind us. That past is behind us and the future’s too far away so we have to stay present and worry about right now.
The team continues camp on Thursday with the preseason opener set for August 7th against Cincinnati.
