Detroit has dealt with several injuries so far during training camp, and the latest injury report includes a former first-round pick from Alabama. According to the Detroit Times, Terrion Arnold is being evaluated for a leg injury on Thursday.

Arnold is entering his second season with the Detroit Lions. The Lions drafted him with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft last year. During his rookie campaign, Arnold started 15 games for Detroit, compiling 60 total tackles, 10 pass breakups, and one fumble recovery, finishing 15th in NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year voting last year.

Arnold played college football at Alabama, making appearances in 11 games as a redshirt freshman in 2022 before starting all 14 games for the team in 2023. During his three-year college career, Terrion Arnold notched 108 tackles, 20 pass breakups, eight tackles for loss, six interceptions, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. His five interceptions in 2023 led the SEC in interceptions, while he finished second in the conference with 12 pass breakups that year.

The Lions expect Arnold to take the next step in his career as a sophomore in the NFL as Detroit faces several top targets in the league during the 2025 NFL season, headlined by arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL, the Minnesota Vikings’ Justin Jefferson.
