JACKSONVILLE – Jaguars 2025 Training Camp continued Thursday.

It was the second day of the first training camp under Head Coach Liam Coen, featuring an hour-forty-five-minute practice in helmets and shorts at the Miller Electric Center. Each day throughout camp, members of Jaguars Media – senior writer John Oehser, senior reporter/editor J.P. Shadrick and team reporter Kainani Stevens – will share an observation.

Here are Thursday’s “campservations:”

John Oehser, Jaguars Senior Writer…

This is a bit of a repeat observation from Wednesday, but it’s clear through two days of Jaguars ’25 camp that there is an intensity in these early practices that goes at least a bit beyond normal early “ramp-up” training camp practices. The Jaguars for a second consecutive day had multiple 11-on-11 and seven-on-seven periods, with Thursday featuring two “team run” periods. The Jaguars will practice in pads for the first time in ’25 camp next Monday. That will be the first time the run drills feature something close to “full” hitting, but Head Coach Liam Coen is showing early on the field during this camp that he was serious all offseason when he spoke of a real commitment to improving a running game that struggled in short-yardage last season. Hat tip to the defense Thursday, which intercepted two passes off backup quarterbacks – and which defensed at least three other passes. We’ll get a better feel for the defense next week when we stop ramping up and start practicing in pads. The vibe around the Jaguars early remains positive. Two more days of “ramp up” remain – Friday and Sunday. Pads pop Monday. Stay tuned.
