Flores mainly talked about preparation and player growth as the Vikings sit nearly two weeks away from their first preseason game.

One player Flores keyed in on was linebacker Dallas Turner, who’s entering his second year as a pro.

During mini-camp in June, Flores talked about his excitement to see Turner’s growth. On Thursday, Flores added a simple training camp expectation for Turner: To get better every day.

Flores also praised safety Josh Metellus’ abilities, who is entering his sixth year as a Viking.

“He’s a big part of what we do defensively,” Flores said.

The Vikings’ first preseason game is on Sat. Aug. 9 at U.S. Bank Stadium against the Houston Texans.
