Michigan State football is gearing up for the 2025 season, the second in Jonathan Smith’s tenure in East Lansing. After a 5-7 year in 2024, the Spartans are in need of a much improved year in 2025 in order to keep the Smith tenure on track.

After what was a solid summer of strength and conditioning, building the MSU roster into being a bigger, faster and stronger players, it is time for the Spartans to get into the lab for fall camp and gear up for the massive season ahead.

According to Smith, at media days, the Spartan team will be reporting for camp on Monday, with the first team practice taking place on Tuesday. That will give the Spartans roughly a full calendar month to prepare for their season opener on Aug. 29 against Western Michigan.
