Penn State came within one game of playing for a national championship last season.
With the return of several of their top players the Nittany Lions will start the season as one of the top 5 teams in the country.
Nick Dawkins, Penn State Center says, “I would say we’re just united for a common goal. Obviously, what unifies people? Is it adversity? Is a success.
And I think with us both on and, you know, we all have something to prove individually and as a team. And when you have that much leadership coming back, that many guys that were bought in already last year coming back, I think it sets a precedent from the top going down as to where we are and what we want to accomplish. “
Dom Deluca, Penn State LB(Wyoming Area) says, “We’re all bought in. We’re all excited. We’re all eager to to for the season to start. We had the group. We have the crew for it. We’re all old. We all have experience. So we’re just going to play our game and, hopefully come out strong. “
The return of Drew Allar at quarterback as well as top rushers Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen the Penn State offense will drive the bus. Plus with 6 back on the offensive line with experience running the ball for the Lions should be their strength.
Cooper Cousins, Penn State Linemen says, “ Obviously having Nick and Kaytron back that’s huge. You know, even the depth that we have in that room to as well Cam Wallace as Quentin Martin ,Corey Smith, we have a really solid running back room. And like I said before, it’s vet driven. And as far as the O-line goes, you know we’re so bought in as a whole.
The culture there you know is run by Dawk, You know, all those all of us together as a core group. We’re just really excited to go out there and showcase our talent this year. You just let 13 and 10 get in that end zone “
The Penn State defense was bolstered with the addition new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles from Ohio State. Wyoming Area linebacker Dom Deluca already likes what he has seen from the defense.
Deluca, “ His huge thing right now is leadership and, bringing people along with you. I mean, we have a lot of older guys on the team, and we gotta show the younger guys how to go about their day and how to become a how to become a pro and and how how to bring along people with you.
And, being that leader is, being a great time. “
Zakee Wheatley, Penn State Safety says, “ Yes, sir. It’s been a great summer. There’s a whole new star. Do you season that w e got to go out there on everybody again. We’ve been working like this. I can’t wait. “
The Nittany Lions football team will start preseason camp in about a week and a half before they host Nevada, August 30th.
