CHARGERS OPENING DAY ROSTER. DEL RODGERS. HOW ARE YOU DOING? IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA? PRODUCT TUCKER FISKE JOINED THE NFL AS AN UNDRAFTED FREE AGENT OUT OF STANFORD BACK IN 2022. BUT AFTER ONE YEAR WITH THE ATLANTA FALCONS, TUCKER SIGNED WITH THE CHARGERS LAST SEASON, GIVING HIM THE INSIDE TRACK TO MAKE THEIR OPENING DAY ROSTER. WHAT ROLE WOULD YOU LIKE TO PLAY AND IS SPECIAL TEAMS PART OF THAT ROLE TO? YEAH, 100%. SPECIAL TEAMS. I MEAN, ANY BLOCKING TIGHT END ANY TIGHT END THREE. YOU KNOW THAT’S GOING TO BE A BIG PART OF YOUR ROLE. BUT AS FAR AS WHAT GETS ME EXCITED, I LOVE BEING PHYSICAL, I LOVE BLOCKING. IT’S KIND OF WHAT I’VE GROWN UP DOING, WHAT I’VE GROWN UP LOVING. SO THAT’S HOW I ENVISION MYSELF HELPING THE TEAM MOST. THAT AND ALSO TRYING TO BE A PHYSICAL PRESENCE ON SPECIAL TEAMS AND DOING WHAT I CAN THERE AS WELL. IT’S GOOD TO PLAY. CALLED. THAT STATEMENT WAS BACKED UP BY CHARGERS HEAD COACH JIM HARBAUGH. WHEN I ASKED HIM WHAT ROLE HE THOUGHT TUCKER COULD PLAY FOR HIS CHARGERS. LIKE HIM AS A BLOCKER, I MEAN, HE IS A TREMENDOUS BLOCKER. YOU KNOW, DARE I SAY ONE OF THE TOP, YOU KNOW, TOP FIVE, MAYBE TOP AT THAT POSITION. AND IN THE NFL. AND LOOKING FOR HIM TO YOU KNOW NOW YEAR YEAR TWO EVEN EVEN MAKE A MAKE A HIGHER JUMP. SO HE’S GOT THE HE’S GOT THE ABILITY AND HE’S GOT THE LICENSE TO BE EVEN BETTER THIS YEAR. AND TUCKER FISKE SAYS THAT LISTENING TO HIS HIGH SCHOOL COACH WHILE HE WAS AT DAVIS, PLAYING FOR THE BLUE DEVILS HAS HELPED HIM GET TO THE NFL, ESPECIALLY HERE AT THE LA CHARGERS. SO WHEN’S DAVIS HIGH SCHOOL HEAD COACH JOHN RILEY? I THINK WHAT I LEARNED MOST FROM PLAYING AT DAVIS IS WHILE I WAS THERE, THE WHOLE GOAL WAS TO MAKE PLAYOFFS, AND WE DID MY SENIOR YEAR, AND THAT WAS LIKE A HUGE MILESTONE. YEAH. SO I GUESS I JUST LEARNED TO LIKE, PUT MY HEAD DOWN AND WORK, YOU KNOW, AND IT’S APPLIED SO FAR IN THE NFL. AND FOR TUCKER’S HIDDEN TALENT, DAVIS, HOW HAS THAT HELPED YOU ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD? AND DO YOU STILL DO IT TO KEEP YOU LOOSE? YEAH. SO I THINK IT’S ACTUALLY HELPED ME A GOOD AMOUNT IN TERMS OF OBVIOUSLY CONDITIONING BUT ALSO BODY AWARENESS, YOU KNOW, I MEAN YOU’RE WORKING IN LIKE KIND OF A ZERO GRAVITY ENVIRONMENT. YOU HAVE TO KNOW EXACTLY WHERE, LIKE ALL OF YOUR LIMBS ARE I GUESS IN SPACE. SO I THINK THAT PROBABLY APPLIES TO SOME EXTENT. AND AS FAR AS PRESSURE TO MAKE THE OPENING DAY ROSTER, TUCKER’S MINDSET IS TO GIVE EVERYTHING HE’S GOT DURING EVERY PLAY. I CAME INTO THE LEAGUE ON PRETTY LIKE TENUOUS CIRCUMSTANCES. I WAS A TRYOUT GUY, SO FOR ME, IT’S JUST EVERY DAY IS A BLESSING. EVERY DAY YOU JUST KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN, WORK, DO WHAT YOU CAN DO, CONTROL THE CONTROLLABLES, WHICH IS EASIER SAID THAN DONE. BUT YEAH MAN, JUST TRYING TO STAY PRESENT. STAY WHERE YOU’RE AT, WORK HARD, LET THINGS FALL WHERE THEY MAY, AND EL SEGUNDO AT THE CHARGERS TRAINING CAMP, DEL RODGERS KCRA 3 SPORTS. SO IF TUCKER CAN MAKE THE CHARGERS ROSTER, DELL SAYS HE’D MOST LIKELY BE THE THIRD TIGHT END ON THE DEPTH CHART. AND ALSO,
