STILLWATER — Oklahoma State’s nonconference football schedule comes with a net cost of $350,000 for its three games this season.
The Cowboys will pay their visitors from Tennessee-Martin and Tulsa, and will be on the receiving end of the payout from Oregon as they begin a home-and-home series with the Ducks.
Here’s a look at the details of OSU’s nonconference game contracts obtained by The Oklahoman:
Tennessee-Martin at OSUDate: 6:30 p.m. Aug. 28 (ESPN+)Payout: OSU pays $450,000 to UT-MartinOfficials: The contract provides no specific stipulations for officials other than to say they will be selected and paid by OSU.Tickets: OSU must provide 300 complimentary tickets to UT-Martin for staff, families and the band, if needed. UT-Martin can request up to 500 additional tickets for internal use or to be sold through its ticket office.Additional games: This is the only game included in the contract.Other items of note: The contract, which was initially agreed upon in March 2020, includes a realignment clause in the case that one of the teams entered a new conference that required rescheduling the date of the game. OSU at OregonDate: 2:30 p.m. Sept. 6 (CBS)Payout: Oregon pays $400,000 to OSUOfficials: The Big 12 Conference will provide officials.Tickets: Oregon must provide 300 complimentary tickets to OSU for staff, families and the band, if needed. An additional 2,500 tickets will be provided to be sold through the OSU ticket office.Additional games: OSU hosts Oregon on Sept. 12, 2026, with the roles reversed in all of the above stipulations.Other items of note: The contract was initially signed in 2018, so all the references to Oregon’s conference list the Pac-12. Oregon is entering its second year in the Big Ten.
Tulsa at OSUDate: 6 p.m. Sept. 19 (ESPN)Payout: OSU pays $300,000 to TulsaOfficials: The contract stipulates that officials for the game must be from a “Power Five Conference,” which has now been reduced to the Power Four. Tulsa will assign the officials, but OSU is responsible for their payment.Tickets: OSU must provide 800 complimentary tickets, as well as 2,000 additional tickets to be sold through the Tulsa ticket office. Tulsa can request another 2,000 tickets, if available.Additional games: This is the second game of an eight-game contract that began in 2024. OSU and Tulsa will alternate hosting each year through 2031. All stipulations are specified for the host team to meet the requirements that OSU is fulfilling this year. Other items of note: The contract’s ticket clause includes the following line: “The Game shall not require purchase of season or additional tickets to purchase ticket to the scheduled Game.”
