JACKSONVILLE – Liam Coen didn’t love Friday’s practice.

He also didn’t dislike it enough to worry much, with the Jaguars’ first-year head coach discussing Day 3 of Jaguars 2025 Training Camp with perspective.

No, there weren’t a ton of offensive highlights. There also wasn’t any panic.

“I don’t necessarily think it was a bad day; it’s just we didn’t make any plays,” Coen said.

The Jaguars on Friday practiced for an hour-and-fifty minutes in temperatures around 88 degrees at the Miller Electric Center. They remained out of pads because of NFL rules mandating a four-day “ramp-up”period at the start of training camp.

The Jaguars on Sunday are expected to practice once more in helmets and “spiders” – the same as Friday’s practice – after a mandatory off day Saturday. The first padded practice is scheduled on Day 5 Monday.

“A lot of the guys you could tell want the pads on,” Coen said. “They just want to get to that point. It feels like we’ve been in T-shirt, shorts for a long time now – and, they’re right. They are. It’s not quite football. It’s still not.

“Football is, as we all know, a very physical game, and it’s meant to be played that way. Ultimately, you can’t really do it until you get the pads on.”
