WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – The Leopards Youth Football team is a travel squad that’s been on the rise since starting just three years ago.
They’ve won championships every season at select levels and they’ve built a reputation for putting solid players on the field.
Head coach DJ Jordan said the growth hasn’t stopped and it’s because the team is open to everyone.
“We’ve been growing. It’s been getting better. We’ve been picking up more players. Of course, one thing I like about it, we’ve been getting players just from everywhere, just not from this community right here. We’ve been picking up kids from Burk, picking up kids from Nocona, Vernon and things like that,” Jordan said.
It’s not just on the field that they dominate though. It’s off the field as well.
“We mentor, we do cleanups, we fundraiser man, you name it. You can’t miss us. We do it all. We train, we help people in our community that need help.” Jordan continued, “Not even necessarily clean up, they need a yard cut. I always go grab a kid. We’ll go knock it down. You know, things like that.”
For coach DJ, football is just the beginning. His focus is on discipline in life and in the game. And that mindset shows every time his team steps on the field.
