The Titans aren’t exactly a juggernaut on offense, but they have potential-packed players like Treylon Burks capable of taking a leap this season. However, that can’t happen if the former first-round pick from Arkansas isn’t healthy.
According to NFL Network insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the Titans have lost Burks to a fractured collarbone. He suffered the injury during Saturday’s practice.
“Burks will undergo further tests, but he’s expected to miss the start of the season at least,” Rapoport said. “A frustrating outcome for the young pass catcher.”

Since entering the league in 2022, Burks has hauled in just 53 passes for 699 yards and a touchdown. Suffice to say, he hasn’t lived up to his draft status.
Even though Burks is expected to miss time this season, Tennessee has a few capable pass catchers in Calvin Ridley and Tyler Lockett. They also have a tight end who is quickly becoming a household name in Chig Okonkwo.

Earlier this year, the Titans declined Burks’ fifth-year option. Head coach Brian Callahan said they needed to see more from the talented wideout.

“He’s got to get healthy first. That’s the first part,” Callahan said. “He’s still working back. We’ll see where that ends up when he actually gets cleared.”
Although it stinks to say, Burks’ latest injury is a reminder as to why the Titans refused to pick up his fifth-year option.
