The Miami Dolphins and All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey remain in agreement that the two sides will look to move on from each other this offseason. A trade of the former top 10 pick seems likely within the next month or so.
Yet while the Dolphins currently sit on their hands to determine the right value for the star cornerback, teams around the league are taking their own stock on whether a potential addition of Ramsey could be the last piece to a championship puzzle.

Is the top team in the NFC South in play here?
NFL.com’s Nick Shook believes that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers may be the best fit, not just for Ramsey, but for the Dolphins as well.
“Tampa Bay has had a remarkably productive offseason for a defending division champion, adding young talent to the offense while retaining Lavonte David and welcoming in key veterans on the defensive side in free agency,” Shook wrote. “A quick scan of the Bucs’ depth chart reveals one area in which they could use some more help: the secondary, where Jamel Dean and Antoine Winfield reside as their best defenders.”
Giving away a player with a large cap hit like Ramsey is never easy. The Dolphins understand that. Miami also wants to contend in 2025 so giving Ramsey away to a team in the AFC isn’t likely at this point.

That’s where Tampa Bay comes into the picture. They have a strong culture, good night life for Ramsey to enjoy, and are a playoff contending team that won’t be in contention with Miami very much.
No deal is currently done, and the Rams have openly talked of an LA reunion … but it’s not hard to see why the Buccaneers and Dolphins may be able to get an agreement done eventually.
