The Tennessee Titans and Oluwafemi Oladejo can both breathe easily. They can sigh with relief now that their contractual drama is over. A few days ago, the team and athlete ended a summer of uncertainty. The Titans signed Oladejo, their second-round NFL draft pick, to his rookie deal. Titans Wire has more:
“Young and inexperienced as an edge rusher, the Titans selected Oladejo in the second round to potentially add an explosive playmaker to the mix at outside linebacker. He possesses the athletic profile, positional versatility, and football IQ that teams covet for the position, along with an infectious personality that radiates from the field. Tennessee is counting on Oladejo to come in and compete early to carve out a role on a defense that must improve its pass rush. But because of his inexperience on the outside, he needs every possible rep to do that.”
That last point is really important. The end of this contract standoff means Oladejo can hit the field and get maximum reps in training camp, leading into the NFL preseason in August and then opening day in September. The Titans are high on Oladejo and need him to be in position to make a major impact for a team which needs help from many different sources.
