As they do with the very first open training camp practice each preseason, when fans are allowed to attend for the first time, the McNairs, Cal and Hannah, addressed the crowd before practice started. Typically, they’ll each say a few words, expressing their excitement for the upcoming season and thanking the fans for their support.

On Saturday, though, things were a bit different. Cal and Hannah were joined by several more friends and family, including the matriarch of the Texans’ franchise, Janice McNair. She, of course, co-founded the team along with her husband, the late Bob McNair.  The Texans announced, before practice on Saturday, that Janice McNair will be the fourth member inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor:

Heart. Leadership. Legacy.

The other two living members of the Ring of Honor paid tribute to Janice on social media on Saturday:

“It’s only right that we’ll be able to look up and see your name right there next to Bob.”

— Houston Texans (@HoustonTexans) July 26, 2025 For her part, Janice McNair was thrilled to become the fourth member of the Ring of Honor, saying the following:

“I’m thrilled to join Bob, Andre and J.J. in the Ring of Honor. It means so much to me to be inducted alongside three of my favorite Texans. I have cherished every gameday since 2002 and I’m so proud of our team. It will be such a blessing to celebrate this special occasion with our amazing fans in November. Go Texans!”

In addition to providing the support necessary to help her husband bring an expansion football team to Houston, Janice McNair has been the driving force behind numerous charitable efforts, largely centered around education and medical research. To date, the McNairs have raised over half a billion dollars for charity, including over $50 million through the Houston Texans Foundation.

The induction ceremony is set to take place during halftime of the Texans’ Week 9 matchup against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, November 2, Week 8 of the upcoming season.
