ASHBURN, Va. (7News) — Noah Brown is back and ready to contribute to the Commanders’ receiver core.
After an injury scare during the team’s mandatory minicamp in June, Brown has been a full participant in team drills during training camp.
It’s unclear what ailment the 29-year-old picked up, but he appears to be back at 100 percent nearly two months later.
“Anytime you get banged up, it’s not fun,” Brown said. “But I was blessed to be okay and be able to get back in time for training camp and work out with the guys.”
In the portion of Tuesday’s practice 7News observed, Brown was active early. He ran a deep route down the left sideline, diving for a ball that landed just beyond his outstretched arms, before catching a short pass on the very next snap.
Brown is entering his second season with Washington after spending the early part of his career with the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans.
Last season, the 6-foot-2, 225-pounder hauled in 35 catches for 453 yards and one touchdown. He played 40 percent of the team’s snaps. Brown should see a significant amount of playing time again — especially if Terry McLaurin remains off the field.

As one of the veterans of the receiving corps, he also takes his experience as an opportunity to mentor the younger receivers.
“We’re all looking to share with the younger guys, and the younger guys are looking to learn,” Brown said. “We understand that elevates the whole room, so anything we can share we do.”
Brown believes the Commanders’ receiver room is “hungry.” He said they’re ready to continue what they started last season with some new pieces added to the core.
“Overall, we’re not satisfied with where we were at last year, and we’re ready to build on that,” Brown said.
