Ohio State center Seth McLaughlin was easily the biggest name for the Cincinnati Bengals in undrafted free agency this offseason.

It shouldn’t come as a shock, then, to think that McLaughlin has the best shot at the final 53-man roster this summer, either.

Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski picked McLaughlin as the UDFA most likely to make the 53 while pointing out his injury woes:

“Unfortunately, McLaughlin also suffered a season-ending torn Achilles tendon, which could hamper his participation in training camp. Still, the Cincinnati Bengals should try to sneak McLaughlin onto the roster somehow, because he could potentially replace Ted Karras in the lineup.”

But much of the 53 projection really comes down to health. The Bengals were more than happy to get a local prospect at a good value and improve depth. Behind Karras, another fan-favorite prospect in 2024 seventh-rounder Matt Lee remains in the fray for the long-term job, too.
