Now heading into his sixth NFL season, veteran Bryce Huff has seen his fair share of impressive athletes.

Two of his new teammates, fellow edge rushers Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams, might be two of the most physically gifted across the league.

Following Tuesday’s training camp practice in Santa Clara, Huff shared effusive praise when asked about his early impressions of the experienced Bosa and promising rookie Williams.

“They’re both guys that love to work,” Huff told reporters. “They’re both freak athletes. Bosa has been dominating the league for a long time. Mykel is coming in, rookie year, he’s going to be a dominant player. So it’s just been great to rush with them and play with them this camp.”

The “freak” label, of course, has a much more positive connotation in football than in other instances. It’s often used to describe players who possess a rare combination of size and athleticism. Bosa, a former Defensive Player of the Year, and Williams, who already has impressed Trent Williams, both certainly qualify for that distinction.

Though Huff doesn’t possess quite the same extraordinary size, he could prove to be a perfect complement to Bosa and Williams within the 49ers’ new-look pass rush.

With Robert Saleh back at the helm of the San Francisco defense, the Faithful will hope these freaks can propel the unit to a bounce-back season in 2025.
