The Dallas Cowboys had a disappointing season in 2024, going 7-10 and missing the playoffs. They will be looking to get back to their winning ways in 2025.
But ESPN – as Dallas fans are learning – doesn’t necessarily think they will be able to do that.

Their sportsbook, ESPN BET, recently released who it believes will be the top ten teams in the NFL in the 2025 season. While the Cowboys are nowhere to be found, there are two NFC East teams on the list.
The obvious one is the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, but the Washington Commanders being in the top 10 is a but unexpected. Jayden Daniels became the sixth rookie quarterback to start in a conference championship game, and it has led many to be big believers in him in his sophomore season.
“Washington’s last winning season before last year’s 12-5 campaign came in 2015. The Commanders were 150-1 to win the Super Bowl last year and came within one win of reaching the big game,” ESPN wrote.
The Cowboys had not missed the playoffs since 2020, as they have been fairly consistent in the regular season. While some may question the team’s play in the playoffs, their ability to get there cannot be questioned.

Many believe that the Cowboys had one of the better 2025 NFL Draft classes in the league, which will definitely help the team keep up with the stiff competition in their division.
Many, including ESPN, are doubting the Cowboys heading into the season. They will be looking to prove those doubters wrong and get back their winning ways in 2025.
