The San Francisco 49ers finished up their second set of training camp practices with seven players missing due to injury.
Perhaps the most noteworthy absence was rookie first-round pick Mykel Williams. He is dealing with what the team classified as a “minor ankle injury” according to ESPN’s Nick Wagoner.

Williams has been running with the first-team defensive line, and working at both defensive end and defensive tackle. Hopefully for San Francisco his ankle issue doesn’t linger and derail what has been a nice start to his first NFL training camp.
Wagoner in his detailed practice recap also mentioned six other players who weren’t participating Tuesday:
CB Deommodore Lenoir (unknown)
It’s a little concerning for the 49ers that Lenoir wasn’t in Tuesday’s session. They’re already down a CB while Renardo Green works through a hamstring injury. Head coach Kyle Shanahan will address reporters after Thursday’s practice where he can provide an update if Lenoir is still out.

RB Jordan James (unknown)
The 49ers surely don’t want their rookies missing much time, but one session this early in camp won’t be the end of the world for James, who is battling for a roster spot.
WR Ricky Pearsall (scheduled rest)
This is good news for the 49ers. Pearsall getting a random off day could mean he’s still dealing with some of the effects of the hamstring injury that sidelined him for OTAs and the first part of camp. However, his rest day was scheduled ahead of time in an effort to keep the second-year WR healthy throughout the preseason.
WR Jacob Cowing (hamstring)
This isn’t a surprise. Cowing is expected to be out until at least the second week of the preseason.

CB Renardo Green (hamstring)
Green is on the same timeline as Cowing.
WR Jauan Jennings (calf)
The longer Jennings is out, the more concerning his calf injury becomes. San Francisco still hasn’t added another wide receiver, so there’s a chance they’re anticipating Jennings returning not long after the team’s day off Wednesday.
