A man claiming to represent a Naples youth football league was arrested Tuesday for selling fake raffle tickets and deceiving residents across Collier County. According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, detectives arrested 38-year-old Jacob Donald Thielking near the intersection of Radio Road and Radio Lane after he was found with a binder of fraudulent raffle tickets. CCSO began the investigation behind this arrest after representatives from Naples Gator Inc. reported being contacted by victims about a man going door-to-door in neighborhoods claiming to represent the Naples Gators. Victims say Thielking was selling raffle tickets for a Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New York Jets game as a fundraiser for the Naples Gators. The victims gave Thielking money but never received tickets. Police say Thielking is not affiliated with the charity organization Naples Gators youth football league and that his raffles were fake. At the time of his arrest, Thielking was out on bond from Manatee County on grand theft, fraud and exploitation of an elderly person or disabled adult. He is now facing felony fraud charges, including misrepresentation of a charitable organization. Thielking was seen in neighborhoods such as Royal Wood, Wilshire Lakes, Heritage Greens, Tuscany Cove and Indigo Lakes. Detectives believe there may be additional victims in other communities. Police say to call the CCSO “Call Before You Pay” hotline at 239-252-CALL (2255) if you think you may have been targeted by Thielking.
