RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Nevada’s football team has named its captains for the 2025 season.
Quarterback Chubba Purdy, defensive lineman Thomas Witte, center Andrew Madrigal, and safety Murvin Kenion III have all been named team captains.
Purdy, the brother of 49ers QB Brock, comes to Nevada from Nebraska where he appeared in 12 games, throwing for 382 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Witte is in his 6th season with the Wolf Pack. Named to the 2025 Preseason All-Mountain West Third Team, he appeared in all 13 games in 2024, and finished with 34 tackles.
Madrigal has made 33 starts over the last three seasons, and is one of the most tenured offensive lineman the Wolf Pack have.
Kenion III comes to Reno after last playing at Sacramento State last year, where he was one of just two defensive players to start all 12 games. He finished the year with 51 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 9 passes defended.
