After a workout earlier this morning with the Kansas City Chiefs, Memphis Showboats WR Kwamie Lassiter II is signing with the team – a league source confirms to Pro Football Newsroom.
Kwamie was an offseason addition to Memphis by GM Jim Monos, as the Showboats saw a complete team rebrand. Despite the constant turnover at quarterback, Kwamie was a quality piece in this Showboats offense, racking up 257 yards and a touchdown.
Lassiter played in eight games with Memphis this season, starting seven of those. He had just one drop in 2025, and also contributed with a couple of PAT conversions throughout the year.
After a strong UFL campaign with the Showboats, Lassiter makes his way back to the NFL. The NFL is no stranger to Kwamie, who spent a couple of years with the Cincinnati Bengals as an UDFA.

Prior to his time with the Bengals, Kwamie played his college ball at Kansas. As a Jayhawk, Lassiter worked his way into a starting role during the final couple years of his time there. Lassiter posted 1,550 yards and seven touchdowns, with 653 of those yards coming in his senior campaign in 2021.
It’s been a busy week for Memphis Showboats signings to the NFL. Lassiter joins C Alec Lindstrom (Patriots) and EDGE Jaylon Allen (49ers) on the UFL to NFL list this week, as the fourth Showboat to sign including QB Dresser Winn (Rams). He’s the second UFL player to sign with Kansas City, with Roughnecks TE Geor’Quarius Spivey being the first.
Without the national platform that the UFL provided him with, who knows if this would have been made possible. You can stay up to date on all UFL to NFL signings with our official tracker.
