The NFL season approaches and predictions are beginning to flood in.

The MVP, Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year are top awards in the NFL that mark the season and the type of player someone is. Every player, including the Jacksonville Jaguars, would love to reach these heights but they must start off somewhere, as rookies.

The 2025 rookie class is filled with talent from round 1 to seven and there are a lot of options of players who can earn the title of Offensive Rookie of the Year and Defensive Rookie of the Year. Who does ESPN have set as the highly favored for these awards?

Travis Hunter has been the talk of the town in Jacksonville. The dual-threat athlete has been leading headlines as he practices on both sides of the ball for the Jaguars.

Hunter seems to improve every practice as he inches toward the first preseason game and NFL regular season. On training camp day no. 6, Hunter participated on offense and was very productive on the day. He caught a touchdown in the red zone 11 on 11 period and won numerous 1v1 in the wide receiver versus defensive back drills.

On defense, he tends not to get thrown too as often. Although when thrown to, he tends to make great plays. A highlight has been Hunter’s near interception against John Wolford and he broke up a pass in the end znone against Jaguars receiver Brian Thomas Jr.

Coach Liam Coen has stated that Hunter will continue to practice both sides and may have a chance to play both sides in the team scrimmange.
