The Bills’ list of inactive players due to injury has been pretty long this offseason. But this one went a little under the radar.
It’s not uncommon to see a long list of players on an injury list for training camp. Teams tend to play it safe with players, and they’re also fighting for their jobs, so it’s understandable that injuries might happen. This year’s list for the Buffalo Bills has already been well documented.
This one was kind of swept under the rug a little though. This starting lineman appears to have quietly undergone knee surgery.
Alec Anderson had knee surgery
According to a TikTok post from Alec Anderson’s wife Alysha, Alec had a minor procedure done on his knee on Wednesday.
She posted a video of the young lineman working out with some dumbbells just hours after the surgery with her begging him to “just sit down and recover.”

Her comment on the video said:
Alec had a minor operation and is doing great!! He’ll be back on the field in no time!! We love you guys! 💙💙 – Alysha Anderson
Alec was a big part of the Bills’ offensive plan last season
While Alec wasn’t one of the Bills’ starting 5 linemen throughout most of the season, you did see him on the field a lot. They woud bring him on as an extra lineman that would have to report as eligible to give the Bills a little extra size in their run game. He’s a big reason why James Cook had such a successful season.
Hopefully, this procedure was really just minor and he will heal up in time for the regular season.
