The Denver Broncos versus EA Sports is a battle that has been going on for years as the team from the Mile High City has constantly been disrespected by the game developer in the world famous “Madden NFL” franchise.
The disrespect was at its highest when the game’s beta released earlier in the summer as the Broncos were one of the five lowest-rated teams in the entire game. It’s fair to not rank them in the top 10, but to put them down in the dumps with the Giants and the Panthers is just plain wrong.
The best players ratings-wise by position were fully revealed on Thursday, and the Broncos seemed to get some of their well-deserved respect back as a handful of guys received high ratings.

Pat Surtain II is the game’s top corner, while Quinn Meinerz is one of the best offensive linemen, no matter the position. Dre Greenlaw and Evan Engram also snuck into the top 10 for their positions. The rookies that the team selected with their first two picks in the draft also have solid ratings, as Jahdae Barron is a 78 and RJ Harvey is a 74.
Even though Surtain is the best corner, he still sent a message to the game developers on Wednesday as they didn’t put him in the 99 overall club despite winning Defensive Player of the Year last season.
The ratings for the full roster are not out, as only a handful of players have had their number revealed.
For the safeties, Brandon Jones did not make the cut as one of the 10 best guys in the league anchoring the defense while neither Nik Bonitto nor Zach Allen were mentioned on the defensive line. Those are all debatable rankings, so it will be interesting to see if the game developers put those guys in the 11-15 range at their respective positions or more towards 20.
For Broncos fans hoping to see their squad in action in the game, it releases on Aug. 11 for those who have pre-ordered the edition that gives them early access, while the standard release date is set for Aug. 14.
