The downside of being one of the league’s top teams is that the deeper in the playoffs you go, the closer to the end of the rounds of the draft you select.
That can be a long wait in the green room for a player to join a team.
When the Bills selected cornerback Maxwell Hairston in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft at No. 30 overall, he’d experienced just that.
However, the way he had conducted himself while waiting for the first round to unfold quickly drew National attention following Buffalo’s pick.
Hairston was seated closest to the stage in the room, meaning every player in there that was picked before the Bills were on the clock had to walk by him to go out to the draft podium.
His response was to smile all night with excitement as he acted as a congratulatory hype man for every draft pick that came before him, offering dap ups and hugs to players who went to meet Roger Goodell and join their new club.
Check out the video of Hairston during Round 1 of the draft below:
New Bills CB Max Hairston’s spot in the green room is the closest one to the stage.
With each player that has been picked and walked past his spot, Hairston has celebrated that player and cheered him on like he was a lifelong friend. Genuine support.
Now, he gets his moment. pic.twitter.com/k5YcbLGoKp
