Tampa Bay Buccaneers honor U.S. military members at Thursday’s training camp session

  • July 31, 2025

TAMPA, Fla. (WWSB) – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are more than week into their 2025 training camp at the Advent Health Training Center.

Thursday felt like a game day atmosphere with fans coming out to get a look at what they should expect from the group known as “The Krewe” for this upcoming season.

Among those fans in attendance was Sarasota native Lee En Chung. She says she’s pleased with what she saw, especially from the newcomers who she’s hoping will be future leaders for this team.

“I came to training camp actually enjoying finding out who the rookies are,” Chung said. “I actually got to meet one of the rookies — J-Thomas, number 73. I got his autograph, so that was exciting. It’s nice to see the rookies.”

This offseason, the Bucs front office staff put all the pieces in place for this team to have a strong chance at winning the NFC South once again.

If they do this in 2025, it will be their fifth straight time winning their division. They would also be the first team in the division’s history to accomplish the feat that many times consecutively.

However, Kari-Jo Koshes, a Sarasota resident and Bucs fan, tells ABC7 that she wants and expects more from this team than just another divisional crown.

“The Bucs look wonderful,” Koshes said. “I am so excited to see how good the team looks, especially Mike Evans, and I’m excited to see them go to the Super Bowl this year!”

Thursday was also special because it was Military Day for the Bucs. The team honoring and paying their respects to the men and women of our nation’s armed forces.

Sarasota resident Will Bobbitt says that it’s things like this that make him a bigger fan of the team than he already is.

“It means a lot,” Bobbitt said. “A lot of our forces were out here. There were so many people. The front office was really involved too. That was really cool to see. I have a lot of appreciation for them.”

The Bucs get their preseason underway Aug 9, when they host the Tennessee Titans.
