Check the stats, NFL numbers show that Baltimore Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy knows how to wreak havoc on the opposition. Humbly, Van Noy finished 2024 with 14 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks on his tally sheet to lead the team. Perhaps Van Noy will be just as effective in 2025?

Defensive coordinator Zach Orr knows that Van Noy will continue to be a force outside, considering the amount of attention defensive linemen Nnamdi Madubuike warrant in the A-gap. Thus, Orr may consider using more five-man pressures to create an advantage in the Ravens’ pass rush. Orr has already shown himself to be a mastermind of disguise when it comes to creating shell coverages. With new personnel at linebacker, the Ravens may tally 45-plus sacks for a third consecutive season.

Van Noy’s size and speed make him such a difficult assignment for offensive tackles, and Madubuike makes it difficult for the guard position to disengage from any double team. Van Noy thus plays as the clean-up man, and that hints towards his ability to work in isolation on the edge and be a living nightmare for opposing quarterbacks.
Allowing just 80.1 rush yards per game last season was beyond impressive for the team defense. Van Noy’s 41 assisted total tackles surely account for some of the team’s acclaim in that category. With all the new talent on the team roster, Van Noy will remain an essential piece in how opposing offenses scheme for Orr’s pass rush.
