Looking at the Falcons’ three scheduled preseason games and six remaining open practices
The 2025 NFL preseason kicked off on Thursday night, but the Atlanta Falcons will have to wait another week before taking the field. After the first two weeks of training camp, there’s already a lot to like about this year’s team. Rookies James Pearce Jr. and Xavier Watts have already made a good impression on the coaching staff.
Second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is picking up right where he left off last season, and tight end Kyle Pitts looks poised for a bounce-back year. It hasn’t all been sunshine and rainbows for the Falcons, though.
First-round pick Jalon Walker has been limited with a hamstring injury and wide receiver Darnell Mooney injured his shoulder during the team’s first practice. Walker is still participating in individual drills while Mooney has yet to return to the field.
The Falcons’ next open practice is on Monday, August 4, and their first preseason game will take place on Friday, August 8. Check out the team’s remaining open practice dates and three-game preseason schedule below.
