It seems the chance to be a part of Bill Belichick’s first season as the coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels has led to a huge jump in ticket prices for games in 2025.
While the UNC football program is far from being able to compete for a National Championship, many eyes around the sport will be on the team and new head coach Bill Belichick. The New England Patriots icon is one of the greatest coaches in football history. And taking his act to the college ranks this year has led to a massive increase in ticket prices for UNC games.

According to third-party ticket seller Tick Pick, the average purchase price for UNC’s 2025 home opener is $155. A 192% jump from last season’s opener that went for just $53. In general, the average price for UNC football tickets in 2025 is up 153% from last year. Tickets for their matchup against the Charlotte 49ers start at $130. Which is 128% more than the total cost of attending every other Charlotte 49ers home game this season ($57).

Furthermore, there is more interest in the state to see Bill Belichick’s first game at UNC than Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers‘ home opener for the 2025 NFL season. The “get-in” price for the Tar Heels’ home opener ($108) is 170% more than the Panthers’ home opener ($40).
Belichick has been making headlines all year. But much of it has little to do with his work to improve the roster. He and 24-year-old love interest Jordon Hudson have been tabloid fodder since their relationship became official earlier this year.

The 76-year-old coach has allegedly given her an outsized role in his life, and rumors claim that it includes having an unofficial role in the UNC football program.
Belichick’s debut season in college football will be the focus of a new documentary set to release on Hulu later this year.
